The client, the WROCLAW CENTER FOR TECHNOLOGY TRANSFER (WCTT), is a non-profit organization which acts as a unit of the Wroclaw University of Technology. It’s mission is to bridge the gap between university and industry, especially regarding R&D work conducted by the TU Wroclaw and the Universities of Stuttgart and London.
Lean manufacturing is a management philosophy derived mostly from the Toyota Production System. It’s goal is to implement a smooth flow in the production process to expose quality problems that already exist, and thus reduce waste and improve efficiency.
In 2002 WCTT invited the Space Unusual Society to participate in a competition to design a new identity for their Lean Manufacturing Program. Our proposal, based on LM’s promise to “transform” a business, was chosen for implementation and was used by WCTT until the closure of the LM program.
The work included the main LM logo, logos for the different LM activities (LM Trainings, LM Consulting, LM Publishing), business cards & letterhead, and a short animation movie.
