Ski Resort Solisko Arena

There is a conflict between road and ski infrastructure.

Proposed solution is to create another level (Arena) above the bus bay, parking lot and roads. The new level will connect seamlessly all the ski infrastructure.

Through cuting and bending different parts of Arena we can create all of the key elements of the Solisko Arena.

There is a unique valley in Szczyrk, Poland located between three mountains, covered with six ski trails, but completely without any infrastructure for winter sportst. We are proposing to create a new winter-sports center which will unite the hills, trails and ski lifts together. Moreover, the new center will work also in the summer time as an open stage for concerts or festivals.

The design of the Solisko Arena is based on the simple idea of creating a double level platform which will hide traffic, the bus station, parking lots and the shops underneath, while leaving an open space for the public on the top level. Space for all necessary functions, such as ski lifts, is created by “cutting and bending” parts of the platform.
